Program Overview
Literary Exhibition Space:
This gathering space for the Literary Arts Program centers the celebration, cultivation, and preservation of pōʻai moʻolelo, a circle of histories and stories, expressed through the many languages, cultures, histories, scholarship, and contemporary stories of Oceania.
The Literary Arts Exhibition room will host spaces for convening and connecting, for literary program and presentations, for exhibition of literary arts materials and collection of published works made available to the public for preview only, as well as a marketplace where a diverse representation of published works by Oceanic writers and storytellers will be made available to the public for purchase.
Literary Programming:
Formal and informal gatherings in the literary exhibition space will celebrate literary arts across Oceania. Encouraging pōʻai moʻolelo, this showcase will provide a platform for knowledge sharing and discussions on languages and cultural themes rooted in literary works. Panel discussions, author talks, and literary presentations will engage facets of authorship, storytelling, and oral traditions to foster the ongoing dialogue around Oceanic literature.
